ATLANTA (GA) – The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) is pleased to announce Tonia Jones of Griffin, Georgia has received the June "Hero of the Month" award. The award was created to recognize Child Support Services employees who exceed above and beyond their daily duties. Ms. Jones, an eight year veteran of OCSS was nominated by her coworkers as most deserving of this award and competed statewide among several nominees.
"Tonia Jones has exemplified a caring and giving spirit while supporting the values of our office by putting children first says Cindy Moss, Director of Child Support Services. "The Office of Child Support Services could not be more proud of her service and dedication and is pleased to call her our Hero of the Month".
Jones began her career with OCSS in 1999. Since that time, she has been a strong asset to the community. She values children and families and has repeatedly volunteered her time and services to families in need. Recently, Jones assisted a custodial parent of four in dire need of basic necessities for her household. She voluntarily began reaching out to her coworkers and community members to obtain items for the family. Due to Jones’ efforts, beds, kitchenware, appliances and other household items were donated to the family. Jones’ generosity and giving spirit allowed the family to start anew and create a new beginning.
Tonia Jones is a recent graduate of Mercer University where she earned a Bachelor of Business and Organizational Leadership degree. Jones plans to apply her newly acquired knowledge to helping families and the community.
